Naturally Different - Consistently Beautiful

Signature's artistic finishes are authentic renderings of period and historical motif's hand-crafted by our artisans.  Each job receiving artistic finishes is unique and unlike any other.  The artistic nature of these finishes, in conjunction with other variations such as color, door design, wood specie, etc. further enhance the uniqueness of each job.  Signature requires specific samples be ordered for approval by the client prior to a job being scheduled for production.  Artistic finish selection should be made and samples ordered at the beginning of the design process to avoid delays when the job is ordered.  If you have chosen an Artistic finish for your new cabinetry, it is important for you to know these finishes may vary.  Learn more about Signature's artistic finish warranty.

Worn - click each bar for more details
wornSignature's Worn finish option is available on stained and painted finishes. It consists of sanding to round the corners on sharp edges, achieving a "worn with use" appearance.    Sanding is also done around the knob or hand pull. The stain or paint color is added over these worn areas and is not removed, differing from our rub thru finish in which the natural wood color is exposed.
Rub Thru
rub thruSignature's Rub Thru finish consists of sanding to round the corners on sharp edges for the purpose of achieving a "worn with use" appearance.  Rub through will appear on doors, drawer fronts, (both on the panel raises and edge profiles) cabinets, end panels and on strategic locations of the front frame.  Flat surface sanding is also done around the knobs and hand pulls. The stained or painted finish will also be rubbed thru exposing the natural wood color.  A clear top coat is added to effectively seal the entire item from moisture.

We recommend that this finish option be ordered on cherry.  Cherry naturally darkens when exposed to light making the rubbed thru portions look more aged and authentic than does a whiter wood such as maple.

Split Marks
split marksSplit marks will generally measure from 2 1/2" - 3" long and will be placed at random locations on doors, drawer heads, front frames, exposed ends and panels.
Worm Holes
worm holesWorm Holes are placed in clusters at random locations on doors, drawer heads, front frames, exposed ends, panels and moldings.
Dents & Dings
dents & dingsDents & Dings are random in size and quantity and are placed on the exposed surfaces throughout the kitchen.
Burnished
burnishedSignature's burnished finish option is available on stained finishes.  It will automatically include the "worn" option and either black or umber glaze.  Burnishing finish option will be applied to worn edges, corners of the panel raise, framing bead of doors and beads on inset cabinetry.
Two Tone Paint
two tone paintThe Signature Two Tone Paint finish creates another level of authenticity simulating even more apparent age than our normal rub thru finishes.

As with our rub thru finishes, we recommend the Two Tone Paint option be ordered on cherry.  Cherry naturally darkens when exposed to light making the rubbed thru portions look more aged and authentic.
