Harbor View inspiration

With the industrial revolution in the United States, work was plentiful and opportunities were everywhere. As the growth expanded to a rapid pace, immigration to the United States from all parts of Europe grew to a fever pace and Ellis Island became the destination of choice.

In New York City there were opportunities for all levels of society. The new population brought with them their most treasured possessions and furniture antiques. Along with the American made furniture influences, the design look that emerged was eclectic, functional and ethnic.

The West was now open and immigration into California through the Bay area continued as the Gold Rush reached its peak. Even the earthquake of 1902 failed to stop the attraction of “Go West young man”.

The Golden Immigration Period of the late 19th and early 20th Centuries (1870 to 1930) had arrived. Along with the growth came Broadway, Movies, Art Deco, Ragtime, The Titanic, Skyscrapers, Automobiles, Flight, Bridges and Tunnels.

Perhaps the greatest period of innovation the World has ever seen, and a wonderful, colorful, design pallet to draw from.

The “Harbor View” door forms the basis for the full product line of “Harbor View”. This includes mullion glass, columns, hoods and other specially crafted elements. This line exemplifies all that is in this period of innovation and offers us a beautiful eclectic style recognizing the influence that this period of time has had on our Country, the United States of America.
